PALM HEALTH CHECKS
Palm Tree Not Looking Right?

Paul McKelvery
Palm trees are a signature part of Florida’s landscape—but even the healthiest palms can show signs of stress. Yellowing fronds, black spots, drooping crowns, and strange growth patterns are all things homeowners notice… and often don’t know what to do about.
That’s where our Palm Health Check service comes in.
At The Palm Guys, we understand that not every palm issue means an emergency—but you still want answers. Our Palm Health Check is a quick, professional consultation designed to help you understand what’s going on with your tree and what your options are.
What is a Palm Health Check?

It’s a simple, low-cost in-person visit where one of our trained team members inspects the health and condition of your palm tree(s). You’ll get honest feedback and straightforward recommendations based on what we observe. Sometimes it’s a minor issue—other times, it’s the early sign of something more serious.
This service is ideal for homeowners who have noticed yellow, brown, or spotted fronds, unusual growth patterns, deformed crowns, or suspect their tree may be suffering from disease or pest damage. Even if your palm just seems “off,” we can help identify what’s going on. Some people simply want peace of mind—and we’re happy to provide that, too.
What We Look For
During the check, we’ll visually assess the overall condition of your palm tree, including frond health and coloration, trunk structure and stability, crown shape and new growth, any signs of pest or fungal activity, and root zone health if it’s visible. We’ll also ask a few questions about your watering habits, fertilization history, and any past tree work you’ve had done to get a full understanding of your tree’s environment and care.

What Happens Next?
After the inspection, we’ll share our professional opinion and outline any next steps. In many cases, the solution may be as simple as a proper trim to remove dead or overgrown fronds, or establishing a scheduled trimming cycle to stay ahead of growth. If the tree shows signs of nutrient deficiency, we may recommend starting quarterly fertilization to strengthen and revitalize it.
If we believe the issue is more serious—like an advanced fungal infection, pest infestation, or signs of internal decay—we’ll let you know that, too. While we don’t currently offer chemical treatments, we can point you in the direction of a licensed pest control or tree health specialist for more advanced care. Read our disclaimer here to understand the scope and limitations of this service.
Why Offer This Service?

Our Palm Health Check isn’t about pushing unnecessary work—it’s about offering honest, professional guidance from people who know palm trees inside and out. Sometimes, all that’s needed is reassurance. Other times, it leads to proactive care that saves homeowners time, money, and worry down the line.
Whether the solution is a trim, a fertilization plan, or a full removal, this service helps homeowners make informed decisions and keeps palms healthier across our community.
